Transport around Nice

Nice Information

busBus tickets-1.50e per journey.  If continuing in the same direction on another bus or the tram, within 70 mins, there is no extra charge but you must validate your ticket again.  A ticket for ten journeys only costs 10e and can be purchased from the Ligne D’Azur office.  This office is now situated in the street before the Cathedral on Jean Medicin.

On entering the office press the first button of the machine on the right…a ticket with a number will be issued.

Check the notice board and when your number comes up go to the ticket desk linked to your number.

  • Weekly ticket is 15e with no limit on the number of journeys
  • Daily ticket is 5e
  • Single journey is 1.50e and purchased on bus or at tram stops

The regional buses are also 1.50 per journey but the Ligne D’Azur ticket may NOT be used.

Enter bus from the front and exit from the back .  Always validate your ticket as Inspectors are frequent visitors to check tickets.

The bus to Monte Carlo is the Number 100 by the coast or the 100x via the motorway 1.50 each way and always very busy.

The train is 3.60e each way …..not quite the same scenery but more efficient and easier to get a seat.  (I still prefer the 100 bus even if I have to stand the scenery is so beautiful).

The Cannes bus, number 200, leaves from just outside the apartment.  Out the door, turn left and straight down to the first bus stop you meet.  1.50e each way.

In the summer the railway offers a day ticket at a reduced rate.  Not sure as yet of this years price but could be used for Monte Carlo in the morning and Cannes later in the day, or Ventigmelia (Italy) in the morning and Cannes in the evening.  Lots of options.
